TESTIMONIALS

"Thank you so much for another amazing week in your fabulous property. Absolutely everyone from 19 to 93 thought it was wonderful and you can never get tired of the view from the sun room."

Mrs Jameson, October 2021

"I am just writing to confirm that our slightly depleted party had a very enjoyable stay at Blackslade Manor last week. The weather was exceptionally wet –probably the worst we have experienced in our stays on Dartmoor over the past 25 years. However in contrast we all thought the house was well appointed and very comfortable . Some of our party did long and energetic walks, and we all again loved the view from the small sitting room. We are sorry that the National Trust Shop in Widecombe is closing."

"Last week we had a lovely time at Blackslade Manor. Weather good-cold mornings but sunny afternoons and we loved the house. Thank you very much."

"Christmas 2017 in this wonderful Manor House. We had a fantastic time. Very well equipt and spacious house in beautiful location. Thank you very much for having us! Would love to come here again. Lovely walks - went to Rugglestone Inn, absolute bliss, sitting in sunny conservatory and stuffing chocolate cake. Thank you so much!"

"We had a lovely time with 6 adults and 4 small children, and 2 dogs! The weather was mild and sunny, the views spectacular and the house so comfortable. The house is extremely well equipped with comfy sofas everywhere. A great pre-Christmas break. Thank you! "

"Fabulous place for 9 adults and 9 Nerf-obsessed children! Beautiful walks on the moors, splashes in the pools at Becky Falls, boogie boarding at Bantham Bay, getting blown off our feet at Grimspound, cream teas in Widecombe and pub meals at The Rugglestone Inn. Best nearish supermarket at Newton Abbot. Fabulous time had by all. We gave our all and had a truly wonderful time. Thank you!

"What a week it has been! We have had a week at Blackslade Manor, but could really have done with two. We have done so much in just one week we will only name a few. Walking into Widecombe with a pint along the way, The Rugglestone and The Old Inn really made our day. Days out to Becky Falls, Brixham, Polperro and swimming, walking, climbing and rockpooling! Bathing in the sunshine, laying out under the stars, watching out for satellites, Jupiter and Mars. Volleyball, water fights and a yummy BBQ, a circus-themed party was a birthday surprise for Stu. Jumping in the sea, paddling in the stream, living in a place like this is like living in a dream. Driving through the country lanes, taking in the views, even the children enjoying everything and never hard to amuse. It really has been a holiday that we won't forget, especially the Dartmoor ponies that we all have met. Fun, laughter and many memories new, we have loved our week at Blackslade Manor but could have really done with two!

"Blackslade Manor is a very large house located near the top of a hill & looking down on a beautiful valley & the fabulous village of Widecombe on the Moor. The house is very large, we had 11 adults & 3 younger children in our party & there was more than enough inside space & lots of outside space for us to enjoy & not feel "on top of each other". The house is not luxury but it is well appointed with good facilities & nice furniture, it's very comfortable & homely so we all relaxed immediately on arrival. The garden terrace overlooking Widecombe was a very popular place, it ticked all our boxes"

"Really enjoyable running weekend. Wild, windy and invigorating. Wonderfully spacious, warm, comfortable Blackslade Manor. Stunning, fascinating views of the rugged moors. Fantastic fun running on the way of the runner run retreat. Thank you."

"Perfect position and accommodation for a large group, plus a well behaved dog. Enjoy the room to spread out and also be cosy by the fire. Particularly enjoyed Holne Tea Tooms after walks at New Bridge, Dartmeet and walks up behind the house. Local pub very recommended. Thank you"
